Leaded Glass China Cabinet:    $204,000.00
AUCTION HOUSE: CHRISTIE'S
MAKER: GUSTAV

This artistic gem came from the mind of Stickley designer LaMont Warner, who worked for Gustav between 1900 and 1906. Warner studied under Arthur Wesley Dow at the Pratt institute before joining Stickley’s company. He was with Stickley through the most influential period in the company’s design history, and is rightly credited as one of the greatest American Arts and Crafts designers. The #964 China Cabinet is one of his most elaborate works, combining a rectangular oak frame with leaded glass doors. The result is both robust and artistic. This china cabinet was listed in Gustav Stickley’s 1902 ‘Things Wrought by the United Crafts’ catalog. Stickley continues to be influenced by Mr. Warner’s early designs. The #89-0134 corner cabinet features art glass closely resembling that of the #964. Also, Stickley has taken Warner’s progressive blend of art glass and geometric forms to a new level with the 21st Century dining collection.
