United Crafts - Syracuse, New York  (1900-1904)

The United Crafts was ambitiously founded by Gustave to extend beyond furniture-making into all areas where art and life intersected.  He saw the organization to be as much an educator as a company, and it's at this time that he began publishing The Craftsman magazine.  The furniture of The United Crafts was exclusively Arts and Crafts, or mission style, with straight lines and little ornament.
